The length of time for the expiration date or "best used before" date depends on the type of product, as well as the brand.
Perishable items (such as flax oils or certain probiotics) generally have shorter expiration dates. Although our warehouse is fully air-conditioned, these more fragile items are put in cold storage (freezer or refrigeration unit) for maximum freshness.
Our receiving department does its best to verify and then enter the correct expiration dates for all incoming products. However, discrepancies do occur from time to time. This being said, the exceptionally high turnover at iHerb ensures that our inventory is among the freshest in the industry.
The Shipping Weight includes the product, protective packaging material and the actual shipping box. In addition, the Shipping Weight may be adjusted for the Dimensional Weight (e.g. length, width & height) of a package. Use in place of cocoa powder in your favorite recipes for delicious natural chocolate flavor without the fat, caffeine or theobromine found in chocolate. Carob isn't as rich as chocolate but it's actually sweeter. When cooking with Carob substitute 1.5 to 2 parts Carob Powder for every 1 part cocoa powder called for in a recipe. Due to Carob Powder's sweetness you may need to decrease the amount of sugar used.
Quick & Easy Carob Frosting
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 1 tsp. liquid vanilla extract
- ¼ cup NOW Real Food Maple Syrup
- 4 tbsp. milk
- 3/4 cup non-instant milk powder
- ¼ cup NOW Real Food Carob Powder
Combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
Carob powder (dry roasted).

I have tried a few other carob powders but that is the best of all.The flavor is just amazing.Thank you so much
Substitute for cocoa in chocolate cake. Use a full cup for a 2-layer cake if you want that sinfully-rich effect. However, be prepared to really play with a classic cake recipe to get a chocolatey flavor. Use less sugar, because carob is sweeter than cocoa. Add acidity and bitterness, because believe it or not, part of what chocoholics love about chocolate is that it has very complex components like that. I add sour cream and a tablespoon of instant coffee, then blend super-well. Remember, you can always use decaffeinated coffee.
