iHerb Customer Reviews

Whole food synergy is everything in this natural vitamin C

Posted by Reviewer2764404 on Apr 14, 2017 | Verified Purchase

As a chemist and molecular biologist, I prefer to take whole food supplements whenever possible because they have a better chance of being absorbed and doing the work they are meant to do. Acerola is a natural, whole food vitamin C (albeit ground to a powder) that includes the natural bio-molecular matrix of support nutrients present in the whole fruit. The whole-food version benefits from the synergy of its bio-molecular matrix - the whole is always better than the sum of its parts. I choose NOW brand because of the quality and the price; I choose to buy from iHerb because of their excellent service.

I have ordered this one hoping that it might be possible to replace AMWAY acerola cherry powder. The taste is very wierd. Maybe it is real taste without artificial flavor.

Excellent product and best way to get vitamine C. I put every day 1/2 tablespoon in my smoothie.

Now Foods, Acerola 4:1 Concentrate

Posted by free2bmoe on Mar 11, 2016 | Verified Purchase

I chose this product because it's a whole food, versus the absorbic acid. For my family though, it causes a weird skin itching sensation not long after consumption. That's only with a 4th teaspoon. Otherwise, this product seems fine. Update: I bought this again recently, to switch off from just using ascorbic acid, don't know what change but there is no skin itching sensation this time around.
